That was a really good show!
We were standing under the pavillion by the snack bar and when the truck spit out those huge flames, I thought my face was gonna melt. We were about 25-30 feet away from it. I can’t even imagine what those nuts standing on the other side by the guardrail felt (about 10 feet away) !!
Unfortunately, my car (still with the POS motor) only ran a stinking 13.5 @ 102mph. That works out to around 310 flywheel horsepower, hardly the 430 it’s supposed to have.
I’m thinking that it’s not even the correct motor. Now I am going to have to pull a valve cover and measure the valve lift with my dial indicator so I can tell which cam is in it. That’s just about the only way I can tell which motor it actually is. (they have many different models with different levels of HP & torque and the only way I can positively identify it is by the cam specs, not that it really matters cuz it’s going back anyway, but I just want to know)
I can’t fuckin wait until my new motor is done!
If I wasn’t working, I’d have been there. Ever since I saw your car at that one car show up by Natrona Heights years ago I fell in love with it, wish I could’ve seen it run.
