:sadwavey: sort of....

no riding leathers?

I’ll be getting a jacket, I just have to find one that is comfortable. I will also be picking up a pair of boots. Pants I’m not going to worry about at this time.

congrats & ur welcome

think they built some place out on rt 30 in greensburg (near rt 66) that sells apparel for decent prices. cant think of the name though… :bash:

x2

z&m where greengate mall area was!

Cool I’ll have to check them out

good luck on that bike Mike be safe!!! go see Adam at road rash in irwin on Rte 30. thats where i got my stock replacement rims and ive gottne my last two sets of skins from.

also check out www.bikerplanet.net for the local scene.

man be safe that isnt no toy you got there. thats a powerful machine that will flip you in a heart beat in the first 2 gears. i doubty youll ever ride as dumb or as hard as i do but still ride safe. if you need any pointers or got questions. ill give you the best possible answers i can without any scarcasim. but if you ask me about putting a tv on that shit im going ot ride your ass about it. now if you got performance or riding technique questions im here for answering.

for youre best bet keep the rpms low for now stay around 6k tops to you get used to the bike. i would go like this for your first 400 miles on that bike go like 4k rpms. then from 400 to 600 go up to 6k rpms. then from 600 to 800 then go to 8k rpms then after that go right ahead and learn more of the power range. this is how alot of ppl that first step up learn to adjust. these larger bikes will bite you in a hurry if you dont respect them and for you not riding or just puttsing on one do these steps so you learn. if you think im full of shit then youre mistaken. im trying ot give you advice that will benefit you and your saftey. also dont use that rear brake that much it only does 30% of the braking the front is what does the most work. also when downshifting make sure to blip the throttle for the shifts. also downshifting isnt as hard on a bike as a car so use this to your advantage to slow down. also bikes love to be rev’d so use them in the bends. you want a good rpm in the bends. my rule of thumb is think of your tach as a clock and have the tach like 11 or 12 oclock into heavy bends. this will give you the most out of the bends. also bikes use RPMs as a gyroeffect. each bike is different for rpms but each bike can use this technique. since each tach is setup basically the same

now you know i dont like you and you dont like me but now your in the brotherhood of riding so im giving you advice that was passed onto me and some ive learnd over the years. so ride safe!!!

Quik,

If you are civil with me I have no problems.

Thank you for the respectful post and I won’t be an idiot.

You don’t have to worry about any TV’s on this bike. When I made that comment about a show bike I was just talking about a decent paint job and then the rest would all be performance based.

This Bike will be taken care of like my cavalier but will not end up like my cav. It will be built to enjoy the ride.

words of advice if you care to take them. a power comander, full system and a filter isnt worth the money. after you spend all that money on those items and then get a custom mapped tune you will have around 2 grand into it and only gain like 8 hp. yes you will notice it but honestly its not worth the money. best then to do is just get a slip on and just ride harder if you need to

I wasn’t going to really touch anything on it till next year but I will keep that in mind so I can pick wisly. Main goals this summer…

-Get my jacket in the next few weeks with possibly boots
-Take the first safty class in september
-Get used to the bike in general.

Over winter I will need to get a trailor but thats not a big deal. I want it for when I take it to places like OC or some of these other shows with the club. Just hook it to the back of the truck and go in comfort

If anyone sees me stunting trust me it probably won’t be on purpose

I just can’t wait till Wednesday, Its like I’m 5 and its christmas eve

i just wear my steel toe work boots when riding hard. bikes fit easy in a 6’ 6’’ silverado bed. i just haul mine htat way with 2 rachet straps on the clip ons. make sure you compress the forks a good bit. this will prevent it from coming lose. no real need to tie down the rear of the bike. ive hauled a bike for 3 hours this way and had no problems at all.

as for wheeling that bike will do it on its own if you full throttle it in the first 2 gears

remember clutch is your friend. use it for just about everything except shifting. yes i said shifting. you wear the clutch more using the clutch when shifting under acceleration then you do if you clutchless it. when you clutchless all you do is let off throttle a hair and then it goes in. bike gear boxes are setup for this unlike cars. there will me less wear on a bike then a car. go look on bikerplanet in the racing section youll see a few detailed posts ive made from Magizine articles that will also benefit you

him thats interesting about the shifting. I have seen that you can sit in first on some bikes without holding in the clutch. is that what you are talking about? Now you say everything excet shifting. what else whould you use it for :dunno: I may just not be understanding.

that’s how i shift my MX bike. just shift it. some bikes you have to let up just a bit to take some of the load off.

hmm, thats interesting and cool. Now I am going to assume that down shifting when slowing down you must use the clutch…

Basically clutchless if for upshifting only.

interesting buy. Dericification complete.

i sometimes downshift without the clutch but im not really going all that fast. so upshifts are without the clutch. for now use the clutch but when youre hammering on it shifting around 11k or etc[bike depending] dont use the clutch

well using the clutch to help control wheel spin is on thing, using the clutch to control on hillmovement is helpful [dont sit on hill withonly the clutch holding you] use the clutch to help go up slow hills. basically everything you would do with a car/truck. clutch is youre best friend

if i dont’ let up in the 1-2 i hit neutral and man is that a bitch
