Digging, moving the dirt, setting forms, pouring. Not to mention the equipment needed to dig and pour is expensive so that drives the cost up.

WOW! I have a super insulated ARXX foundation that is about 3000 sq ft. and it only cost $30,000. Tens years has seen some crazy increases I guess.
It is insulated to about R52 and is 8" thick and has about 5300 feet of rebar in it.
I guess I need to understand the breakdown.
is it 20k concrete 20k labor 20k delivery, or what? I don’t see how this should really cost so much.
Running a legitimate business costs a lot of money. There a lot of expenses they have to cover before they start making any profit. The labor is not cheap. The concrete itself is not very expensive compared to the rest.
that’s a whole lot of saying nothing.
It’s 125/yard. Don’t know what kind of basement you’re figuring.
It was similar to this. It was about 2 years ago and not in Buffalo but out west… Not sure if that makes a big difference but it was shocking to say the least. There was also a 3 car garage that is not on this print that I scoured off the web.
Well it definitely costs more to square up all of those corners. In other words; A big rectangle would be cheaper.
I would think labor out west would be cheap, think Mexicans.
Edit: Is the flat work included maybe?
Every corner usually comes with a premium…if you really want to see $$$ then start asking them to from up curved walls
ARXX foundations/walls are the best, if you can stack Legos you can build your own forms. They are basically large foam legos. AND YOU CAN SCREW DRYWALL RIGHT TO IT!
If anyone wants to check mine out let me know. Oh… and they are way stronger than conventional walls.
Here you go… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7_ZdKQRMc8
You can even build your whole house out of concrete if you want it to be hurricane proof, termite proof, etc.
I could sell these things!!!
I’m not surprised at all that the above Basement (with 9 foot ceilings) was quoted at $65k. That’s really complex, and if it’s on any sort of grade that’s going to bring the price up even more.
Those lego things are so awesome. Looks like the company got bought out now by Fox Blocks though.
really ? I guess to each their own… i love it.
