Yamaha's 98 Hyundai Tiburon Turbo

Wow!! I’m jealous!!
That Tibby’s looking great!

very nice sean… cant waite to see it touch boost!

x2

Car is finally running properly and inspected. On my old turbo setup, I ran the MAF on the air intake pipiing without issues. That is what seemed to cause my running rich and stalling issues. I moved the MAF to the charge piping right before the throttle body and it did wonders for the run time on the car. After getting the car inspected and running around for 100 miles tonight, I found out I may have bad seals in my turbo. I plan on purchasing one soon to replaced this. I have a 7psi tune currently on the car, but it seems to be running a bit lean, I have a 9psi MAP I will be running tomorrow to see what happens. More pictures to come.

congrats

Had some issues with blue smoke while I would let off the gas during driving conditions. I believe it may be bad turbo seals or my PVC configuration.

having the maf moved close to the intake manifold like that will def help the car run better, esp if you have your bov venting to atmosphere or some boost leaks. Anyways glad to see the car progressing and I look forward to seeing it on dynoday.

I was having some issues getting the piggyback reading RPM’s while the car was running, after switching a wire around the car is running 9psi perfectly at 12.5 under WOT. Heading out to see Jeff about a flexpipe now.

cool… Im really glad you ended up doing this car instead of the elantra… cant wait to see it in person again!

looking good! can’t wait to go for a ride in this Turbo Hyundai!

Your Import is so out of place at that car show in front of the Hallmark store, nice pics

Not a huge fan of Tibs, but i gotta say yours looks pretty sweet. I like that blue with the CF.

I passed you on camp horne rd last week…I was in the purple slowpar

i guess this was the car that came out to Jeff’s place (1st Try) that one wednesday night? my camaro was there gettin the exhaust done

whats that beast putting down?

What’s it putting down w/ 18psi?

i think i saw this on ebay. did you buy it or was trying to sell it on ebay?

Not sure what it is putting down at 18psi yet. I have some fine tuning to finish and get t-bolt clamps, as I was blowing off charge piping. This Tiburon was on eBay about 8 months ago. The car sat for almost three years until I bought it for 3,000 and put it to where it is today.
