how and where are u gonna get parts for regular maintence, let alone performance shit. and what is the dollar per horsepower compared to other engine setup’s. i would love to drop in a ca but it’s shit like that which holding me back, the what if factor
^ research Nelson, you’ll eventually find something that suits your needs. SR or CA would be good in terms of easy starters but SR moreso considering all the aftermarket support and knowledge base, I’m more towards the CA tho…lots of pros. If you wanna go KA-T, suggest you ditch your motor or rebuild it unless it’s healthy man.

Regular maintenance items from 88 Pulsar and s12 200sx, mostly. Performance stuff mostly from sr20det - elbow, downpipe, intercooler, turbo etc. Dollar for horsepower its better than a sr20det, but nothing beats the ka lol.
KA - $500/155 = $3.22 per hp
CA - $1400/175 = $8 per hp
SR - $2000/205 = $9.75 per hp
& those are using the highest prices for the ka or ca but average sr price.

The ca is a bit of a bitch to get running right. It is in the car but the knock sensor isn’t wired in yet so there is some sputtering/misfire. hope to sort it out soon and run a few more ground wires, my dohc tach is just bouncing around freely. hope it runs fine after that. sr prolly would’ve been easier, but oh well, not giving up on the ca.

I currently have my CA on a 3"-elbow, downpipe, testpipe, and a Dart Izumi…Sounds like the devil himself.
Really nasty if I take out the “silencers” as DI calls them.

jed, seems like you’re really biased towards getting a CA18DET anyways. If you don’t have the finances then don’t do it. Stick with whatever you have. Cause you’re only going to cause more problems in the very near future.
CA’s make fantastic museum peices… which is where they should stay.
