I'm leafing!

For Korea!
I got my visa today, flying out Monday or Tuesday.
You can follow my adventures in not one, but TWO places!

I’m going to go ahead and predict that my Flickr will likely be more interesting than my blog, what with pictures being cooler than text and all.

For those that are curious, I’m keeping my car, I gave some thought to selling it, but I’m not sure what I’d get next, and I don’t think anyone on the planet has a cleaner, lower mileage IP Coupe than mine (and if they did, I’m sure they wouldn’t sell it), so it made sense to just hold onto it, until I decide that I want something else.

now i have a reason to keep living

going to teach engrish?

LOL

good luck on your travels dude.

finally your gone…i been waiting for this day forever…

lol on another note. good luck over there.

sucky sucky!!!

You wanted to go to Korea too and now you can come visit me?

I subscribed to your blog lol

so they need engineers in Korea, right?
LOL

have a good time man. One of my friends taught English in Korea couple of years ago, he had a great time. He was there for a year, and he said it was way too short for him

Well, right now I’m going for English too, but if Hyundai wants some crazy white guy working for their special tuner arm that they haven’t even developed yet, I’m down like a clown Charlie Brown.

So, I’m here, and I have awesome internet

I’ll post pics soon

Korea, w00t =D

Have fun Antonio!

Ew, Korea sux.

Enjoi buddy. Livin’ the dream!

Haha, Korea is awesome! Honestly, the only thing that I’d like better in Japan, is the fact that I’d be able to get around easier, since I know a lot of words and phrases in Japanese. Food, drinks, transportation, etc… is so damn cheap here. Plus, the nightlife is crazy.
And so is the internet  The earlier one was my home, this is at work:

shit, i’ll be paying $700/mo for 5mb/5mb fibre…

Hows the work and stuff? is this hard to get into?

It’s pretty easy to get into if you have a degree, but it might be hard otherwise, because it’s a visa requirement.

lol, I’ll apply with my comp sci degree, rofl…

I’ll teach the kids slang and short form.

It doesn’t really matter what degree you have… as long as you speak english. I almost ended up there at the beginning of the month and have considered it many times in recent years. However, from what I’ve read and heard from others you need to be really careful you disclose your background if you’re not a typical looking white person. I’ve heard many stories of individuals traveling all the way there with a job lined up and having the liaison staff say thanks but no thanks. In many cases, its not a problem but it would suck to show up and be turned away because you don’t like they want you to.

I’ve heard Southern Korea is the place to be… on the island

Yea, sadly, they are pretty waisis about non white people, they want you to be the typical westerner. Other than that though, they’re super friendly, and everyone that I’ve run into has been extremely helpful, even if only through rudimentary sign language.
If you guys wanna see pics, can check out my flickr at the beginning of the thread, I’ve updated it with all the pics.

The only way I’d ever go to either of those countries is for business or vacation. The later is the most likely but lowest on the priority list.

=D

Do they accept balding westerners?
