My new project that has been 9 years in the waiting...

Sweet!

I don’t need the leafs. I got 3 inch Belltech drop leafs. I might take the blocks if you can salvage the U bolts. They’re only $20 a set brand new, with the U bolts though so I am not real concerned about it. It would be quicker to just cut the bolts when the rear end is taken out.

Was his old V8 an lt1, too? I have a pair of ceramic coated lt1 exhaust manifolds.

I’ll just cut them. You’re right. Won’t be worth the effort.

Kind of embarrassed to say… but I don’t know. It’s from a mid 80’s full size truck and doesn’t have anything ‘modern’ looking on it. I don’t know the differences between LT and LS motors or what the previous designs were designated. This project is my crash course ( :eek3: ) in V8s, for lack of a better term.

john what mounts do you need? the swap mounts or the the ones the mount to the frame?

sweet…glad to hear your getting it together…get some new pics !

I will need 2.8 v6 to V8 adapter mounts. Probably gonna have my Dad make them at work using the JTR templates.

Well I got the V8 in my Blazer a few weeks back. I am not sure if I did it all correctly though. It doesn’t seem to have much more power. I think I did it wrong…

 :tounge:

you installed your flywheel upside down

and i bet that’s a new fuel pump and alternator!

Thanks for the heads up. I was afraid I installed the serpentine belt backwards or put the spark plugs in the wrong holes. I’ll be sure to check that out. :bigok:

check ur turn signal fluid too !

this site should help you out…
