WRC not since the 90’s however by the time this new nissan comes out, Renault WILL have returned… Also renault has been running the Cliomaxi, ( not to be confused with the V6 Clio), since the late 90’s is tarmac rallys around europe. Renault also has a LONG history of WRC the Alpine, ( dev. in italy), of course most of you weren’t driving at this time but i drove a Renault turbo 5 back in the 80’s, The original hot hatch for northamerica in my books… and of course the Megane, which took apart the original Xsara and 306 rally cars before they went into WRC production… Renault is also racing the WRC super 1600 series and 2 other tramac/gravel series with the smaller engine cars as a lead up to WRC entry.
this is mostly info off the top of my head… so some info made be out of context.
this is the french version of the pikes peak race…
Honestly, I think most people buying that car won’t even notice that it’s FWD nor will they care… so Nissan decided to save money and make it FWD.
Luckily we are getting a replacement for the S-chassis
