SixSpeed454SS's 1966 GTO project

BOOOOOOOOO!!! :greddy2:

Wazzup there philderbert? I’m going over there this weekend to try to get it out of the garage & wash it. I’ll probably bolt the front fenders & hood back on to transport it. I don’t want to damage anything.

BTW…why will I be punished? I have been trying ot save this car for years…You know that!

yep me too i am down for a resto, and if philly blunt is there all the more fun

NICEEEEEEEE…can’t wait to see more pics todd …looks like its gonna be a sweet project

Yeah, but I can’t believe you had that much shit piled around, on, and I’m sure, in it! That’s terrible!!! :slap:

However, I won’t be around this weekend too much. I’m going to the Jayhawk game in Hershey, then a Christmas party on Sunday. But let me know when you’re going to be messing with it any other time and I’ll be there.

but it was the previous owner that stored it like that…not Todd

Yeah, but he’s guilty by relation  .

LOL…tru he should have had a talk wit him about it and how to store it

better check the dash for a mouse nest

Yeah…what he said…

That’s why I’ve been trying to save it.

No worries…I’ll be pulling the complete interior out of the car. The seats are kinda old & deteriorated & if you push on them they make a crackling sound. New seat covers are available from many vendors. The carpet was new 20 years ago, but for $100 i’ll buy another new one. There is a new headliner in a box. The door and rear side panels are in nice shape. The package tray may need replaced. The dash (instrument cluster) needs removed as a result of the fire damage.

Again, as funds allow, I will replace items needing replacement. I have no intention of throwing this car together in a hurry.

so no more mods for the truck now huh ???

Maybe not for a while. The Headers & most of the exhaust is done, though. It just needs tailpipes made for it. I just wanted to get it out of Hybrid’s way, so it is home now. It runs real good.

come pick me up in it then fool…i wanna go 4 a ride…hell just getting out of my apartment will be a plus

Awww…sux for u. I just ran down to UPS in it to pick up a package. I’m almost embarassed to drive it. It hasn’t been washed in a few months.

You’ll get to ride in it sometime.

You get my text message?

u say that everytime ur in it…lol

it better be soon fool…lol

ya i got ur message that truck is niccceee

check the paddock or year one for parts for the goat …

Last Sunday Dec 17th, my friend Dave & I uncovered the GTO & moved it outside. It took about 3 hours total. We then bolted the two front fenders & core support on and set the hood in place for the move to my house. This was the first time the car saw daylight since 1987.

On Tuesday the 19th, we moved it to my house in an enclosed trailer. We used an electric winch to pull it into the trailer & slowly back it out of the trailer. There is no steering box on the car, so this was a little troublesome for moving & steering.

Tonight, I washed the car & removed all the items tha were stored in the trunk & passenger compartment. The exterior paint has alot of overspray on it from when the car sat in my dad’s body shop 20 years ago. The license plate was in the trunk, along with an owner’s card that expired in 1985. As you can see from the pics, there is alot of valuable parts for this car. This car is mostly complete, with the exception of a gas tank, all three carbs, and a wiring harness. There are many more parts still at my dad’s house. I just don’t have room for them right now.

There is some bodywork that needs finished on the right side of the car. The door had some pinholes on each corner (both corners had new metal welded in, but no putty applied) & the rear wheelwell had some damage that was straightened & some finishing putty was applied, but it still needs sanded & finished. The rest of the car is perfect.

The first pic is while still at my dad’s place. The rest are at my house.
