03 silverado dash problem....

Well, this is kind of a shot in the dark but i’ll try it anyway.

a friend has an 03 silverado and the speedo stops working in the cold.

once the truck warms up, it starts working.

everything else works but the speedo.

Its an electronic dash, and I figure there is a marginal solder joint on the flex circuit of something…

has anyone seen this or have a username/pw i might borrow to
get on GMs site and get all the schematics?

yeah it sounds to me like one of the solder joints is bad. dont know too much about that stuff, but it would make sense that it could be just loose enough that when everything heats up, it softens up the solder enough to make it form a decent connection.

you have a short in the dash cluster. you are gonna need a a new cluster/module. i see this all the time where i work
