my sisters 04 rsx type s was in a head on collision the night after thanksgiving and was totaled by the insurance company. my parents have been on the phone for hours everyday disputing how much money they are going to give them for the car. so there’s a higher offer from our insurance company, which we will still lose money on the car at the price she bought it but it will be a pita to buy the car back. and the other girls insurance is ~$1000 less but we can take the car with ease.
so i was wondering if there was any serious interest in anything on the car from anyone one here, that my sister could make some of the money back an hopefully break even with the car.
the car wont start now obv. and she was in 5th gear going ~45mph at the time of the accident and the car just shut off and died after the collision. so i dont know if the tranny/engine are even good?
the car has 44,xxx miles i think. the fenders,hood, and bumper are junk. maybe the pass side door. otherwise everything else is good.
i am taking the following off the car to keep if we end up getting the car
ECU
exhuast
header (if i can get to it)
intake
camber plates
Rear sway bar
front upper control arms

honestly i have no ideas on prices for anything. i can take a look on rsx forums when i get a free minute. i dont wanna give stuff away but on the other hand im not looking to make a killing.
and again. we might not buy the car back so im just looking for interest at this point. my parents will probably make the decision later today
How much do they even want for the car? Usually once a car is totaled they only go for maybe $500. I think worse case they ask for 10% so if they gave your sister 10K for the car then you might have to pay $1K.
I hate dealing with insurance companies they suck so much balls.
well the way it works with the other girls insurance. is we take the money they offer and get to do whatever we want with the car and then junk it. so i can take off whatever i want at that point. which will be the only way we are going to get the car rather than buying it back from out insurance company because that will just be way too much of a pita to go through the hassle of doing that

she has some back problems and has been to the doctors probably 6-7 times since the accident. and mentally shes a mess becuase she was so excited to finally get the car. and it was pre-modded when she bought it so she was thrilled to have the car. and now shes been stressing out about finding another one and not having her own car to drive. so i think we found another car for her in Michigan, so now we just have to deal with the insurance companies and solve that mess
except for the stuff listed, everything is going to Saxon at the moment. so if he buys the car you can ask him. i dont know what he is planning on using from the car.
but if i had to guess probably like 500 for the seats and cluster
