06 Mitsubishi Eclipse... :hsugh:

i think it looks a hell of a lot better than the current Eclipse, but it’s practically a fucking yacht.

Doesn’t this thing share a platform with the Dodge Stratus? Because that could explain a lot. Or am I high?

I think it’s bigger than the 3G which is bigger than the 2G…yet they managed to lose space inside (at least it seems that way to me in my buddy’s 3G) and lose AWD.

It probably only weighs 4000 lb now too.

I agree that the styling of the new Eclipse is questionable…But 260 hp is competitive…Close to Z numbers…Anyone know what size engine the Eclipse has? 3.8L V6? It will most likely be a popular car (despite the fact its ugly)…Wonder how much a fully loaded eclispe would cost? I’d would still rather have a stripped down EVO RS. I’m sure the cost of both will be pretty close.

NOOB forum please!

I dont think I’m alone in thinking they need to bring back the Turbochargers for this car

but I do not think Mitsubishi wants to take away the small niche market they have with the Lancer Evolution.

97-99 all had the same bumpers, lights, tails

i don’t really like it, but I like it better than the current ones. I like the 2G ones the best.

Its ok…not really something I would race, but something I could drive daily. It really looks like it needs about an 1" drop front and rear also.
The only reason they don’t turbo it is because they have the lancer evo.

Did anyone else notice how it has 4 front windows? What the hell is the point of that?

Too bad mitsu doesn’t know what the market wants…The evo is great but its out of most people’s price range (those who truly want it anyway)…The 3rd gen eclipse abandoned it’s roots when they moved into the “sports car higher displacement” area…This new eclipse is moving further away from what the car originally was…Mitsu looks to have it’s sites set on 350Z & RX-8 market with this new eclipse (looking at the perf numbers)…Instead they should’ve put the 4g63 into 2800lb FWD w/ LSD Eclipse & sell it for 22K…

Agreed

where the fuck do you get your info?

he knows everything about everything, havent you noticed

And the Galant. Chrysler uses a long wheelbase version of the eclipse for the Sebring/Stratus coupe twins

It’s not the first time a 2dr chrysler has been used on the galant platform, look at the older sebring/avenger coupes.

someone kill it, before they produce it

Yeah i totaly agree. The bodystyle seems to futuristic, granted it has more power than the 3G’s but as i guess they say, looks arent everything. I think mitsu went a little to far with the styling of the car. More than likely it will also be overpriced. This summer i was at a mitsu dealer and they had a fully loaded GTS spyder. It was $30,000. I just couldnt see paying that much when u could just get and EVO or STI. :blue:
