1983 Honda Shadow VT750

Hey all, listed for sale is my Honda Shadow VT750 I bought just last year. It was the bike I learnt how to ride on so it’s been dropped a handful of times, however all while not moving (had some trouble learning balance upon braking lol…) Anyway it’s for ~29k miles on it. Here’s the rest from the CL ad.

Make: Honda
Model: VT750C
Year: 1983
Mileage: ~29,000mi

For sale is my 1983 Honda Shadow VT750 in Rochester. It’s been spray painted a camo green to cover the worn out black paint it had on it before. Would be a great starter bike, not too heavy and the center of gravity is pretty low!

The bike runs but has a hard time starting up, especially when it’s cold. When it starts, it runs fine, doesn’t burn oil or leak anything and keeps idle fairly well. Hard starts when it’s cold is most likely due to worn out electrical components possibly the ignition coils/wires. It will not start at temperatures below 50 deg F, will crank forever getting compression and fuel but insufficient spark. It has been dropped in a parking lot not moving and broke the right turn signals and mirror.

In my time owning it, I’ve replaced the wet cell battery to a closed AGM, replaced the starter, starter harness, rear brake cables and put on brand new Shinko tires. General maintenance like oil, coolant, brake and clutch fluid were done routinely as well. Some parts were taken off like the center stand but will be included.

Price is set at $800.

It’s a nice learner bike for sure! Drop it and dent the gas tank? Oops. Scratch the paint? Paint’s already scratched. Ride it off a cliff? Oh well it’s only $800.
