Is that the same as the factory rag tops? Or is Autech the company that chopped it?

I am familiar with the convertables here just not sure if they built them earlier in Japan.

no one buy this…because i want it…badly.

Autech did all the JDM Silvia converts.

The ones destined for north america were converted by ASC (american sunroof co)

Well I know who to call when we want to find new staff … thanks for the prompt replies and accurate information spd-dmn 8)

I should probably also mention that we have already put this car on hold for a customer, so it will be sold pending his payment tomorrow. :frowning:

spd-dmn knows everything about every car ever built I think… in fact, working at an importer would be a perfect job for you Mike! You know lots about all of these cars nobody here knows anythign about… I’d pursue it if I were you.

Thanks for the info. So, the late '94’s were done by the factory though right? I wonder how the quality of the top job is vs the factory ones. I have seen a bunch of Fiero convertibles, a friend of mine has one that looks as nice as a factory could have done it, but some definitley do not.

afaik the factory only prepped the cars to some degree and then sent them out to the respective company to finish the job.

I might be wrong though.

Oh and before I stop ruining this for sale thread…

here’s another convertible that came out of Autech:

Too bad it only came with an SR20DE.

So all these are Variettas?

Varietta is the name given to the S15 convertible, earlier ones were not called that in Japan.

Autech did an amazing job with the conversions, I have looked at these cars in detail and am constantly surprised with how well it’s been built … the quality of the parts, fitment, push button roof up/down thingie, etc. are all nicer than the Mazda Miata.
