:edit:
Changed the oil last week with 5w30 synthetic blend and an AC Delco oil filter. 0 miles since changed lol.
Agreed! These are fantastic and plow through the snow with ease! It’s a bit rusty but really has been looked after quite well, wish I could justify keeping it…but I’d rather put my funds elsewhere.
Someone buy this and take it from my work parking lot!
What is the 8th digit of the VIN on the new motor? If it is a W, you have the problematic “spider” fuel system. If the 8th digit is a X, you have the good fuel system. X vin is found in 2002 and newer 4.3 equipped vehicles. Looks very clean. 2k for the X 8th digit is very fair.
It’s a Z motor, the W came out in 1992, X came out in 1999. The W motor central port injection ‘spider’ had 40 more hp than the Z (TBI). However you are right, they are not as reliable, I had to change it in my old 92 with only around 110k on it.
