1995 Subaru Legacy

1995 Legacy.

This car is a piece of crap and no one should buy it. Its ugly and rusty and will probably kill you the second you start it.

Has about 149k miles. Its a 95 so no need to pass obd2 (no codes on).

The good-
New front brakes about 2k miles ago.
Good tires.
New battery last winter.
Starts every time (except that one day the battery died).
Cheap as hell
Regular oil changes from myself and the previous owner. Lost less than a half quart of oil in 4k miles.
You can run shopping carts into the side of the car and not give a shit

Known issues:

  • expired inspection
-Rusty. Ugly. Did I mention rusty? Could use the holes in the body for added storage space.
    -Definitely wont get you laid.
-No keyless entry. I have a key for the doors and it works.
-Abs light is on. I would have pulled the fuse anyways so I never looked into the issue.
-Emergency brake doesn’t work. I am 90% sure it has a broken cable on one side. I parked it in gear for 9 months with no issues but this will fail inspection and should be fixed.
-The gas tank was replaced with a rust free tank. Since then, it sometimes shuts the pump off while filling. It didnt bother me enough to look into it.
-The exhaust was repaired in the past, and the newer axleback section was attached with a slip joint. The joint welds failed so its just held up with wire. Not a difficult fix, as there is still plenty of meat there to weld.
  • rear struts are shot. Still drives fine but feels like a Cadillac.
  • Hitch is permanently rusted to the receiver. Think of it as theft deterrent.
    – its been sitting in my driveway for a month and a half, so anticipate having to beat on the brakes a bit to get the rust off.
  • one of the front wheels needs to be balanced after last winter. Has a shake at about 60mph.

Assuming the car doesn’t murder you the second you start it up (which it will), it should last a year with a hundred bucks in parts and a welder.

$500. I wont take $499. I’ll gladly take $500.01. Car is located in cheektowaga. Willing to entertain trade offers for anything. Always interested in new stuff.

oh baby is this a deal!! a running driving car for $500?

glws!!

is it auto or 5 speed? can I not read or was this included?

guessing 5 speed as he says he parks it in gear

Yeah it’s 5 speed. Keep forgetting to add that.

Its definitely a decent deal if you don’t care about how your car looks. Its not a car that will last you years though.

No one needs a winter beater?

I’ll trade you this sweet Enduro I have

Sorry, literally zero interest in motorcycles of any kind.

il give you 400 for said enduro

Triple that offer and its yours

Got a deposit. I guess when you sell a $500 car, you should expect the buyer to have no liquidity to come up with $500 cash.

Did your deposit come in rolls of quarters and returnables?
