Putting up this legendary 2000 Toyota Solara for sale. This car was purchased brand new by my father. He drove the car its first ten years until 200k miles, before giving it to my sister who has driven it to the current 280k+ since then. Perfect winter beater car!
Specs:
2.2L 5SFE 4 cylinder engine
Motor and transmission are in excellent shape for the mileage (car has been regularly maintained)
Power windows and locks
Factory CD player
Winter tires mounted on the factory alloys (currently on the car)
Remote starter
JBL audio system
Brand new radiator
New flex pipe earlier this year
Timing belt done at 200k
TONS of records dating back to when it was purchased, was serviced at Northtown for much of its life
Cons:
Needs front brakes, they vibrate under braking
Exhaust leak at flange near muffler (not loud at all though)
Some general clunking while driving. The main culprit are the swaybar links, they are shot! Otherwise, shocks/struts were done at 200k. However, most of the suspension bushings are stock, which also may contribute to the clunks.
Ignition tumbler can be finicky once in a while, the car ALWAYS starts, but might need a little finesse to turn the key.
Might need rear wheel bearings, but not completely necessary
Rust along bottom of driver side door
Lastly, the car was involved in a minor fender bender in 2014. My sister bumped a car at low speed, hence the body damage to the front.
