It’s not that JJ, I knew I was gonna have a few issues but I didn’t expect to literally go down the list of “things that suck with 1.8t engines” and check them all off lol. Either way though, the car runs good now, Autohaus just replaced the coilpacks under warranty and I threw in new NGK plugs as well, it’s a world of a difference driving now, all 4 packs were bad.

I just wish VW made a reliable car like they used to.

Nope, this is still being DD’d, if you ever see a black Jetta with europlate and blue hubcaps in Tonawanda it’s me lol.

EDIT: I know the Jetta you’re talking about it, it’s a GLI though, one of Paulo’s friends actually, the car has the same grill as me though.

I believe it has had the clutch replaced, though I do not know for sure. It does shift very nicely though and I have never had problems with it minus the shift linkage being off, which was a quick fix and corrected the issue.

The timing belt was replaced, as I found that a metal impeller blade water pump was installed, which is a replacement for the plastic bladed one that is known to fail on the older model Jettas. I don’t have much information on the previous maintenance, the owner before me did not ask for records when he purchased it from the original owner, I was in the dark when I bought this car.

I have gone over the entire car though since purchasing it, making sure to comb through every issue that has risen.

Doing a pressure test on all the piping today, no reason in particular but it can’t help to check just in case.

how’d the pressure test go?
I made a DIY out of an old MAF housing, pretty much on the same design as that one and found all sorts of little leaks on my b5. Very very useful little tool.
