2008 Checkmate ZT230 open bow- $25K or B/O

This is a steal for this boat. I took it in right and I’m thinking if anyone wants it before I wholesale it to Collins Marine.

It has the 350 Mag, 1:47 gears vs. the 1:62 it normally comes with. Has 21 pitch 4 blade prop, bimini top. Comes with a 2010 Vantage dual axle trailer. Boat has 75 hours on it. It is very clean and a sharp looking boat. This will do 70 MPH on the water.

I’m not really up on my boat values, but that seems like a GREAT deal

The guy I took it in from paid $42k for it last year. I took it in well below what it is actually worth. I’m not in the business of making money on boats so this will go quick and at a low price.

Was the guy running coke with it and needs bail money?
Very tempted. Hmm…If you don’t mind me asking what’s the ballpark Collins is offering you to wholesale it?

Well they are offering low 20’s. We owe them a favor so if I’m going to sell it to them its gonna be low. If I was going to go that with anyone else, I’m just going to let them have it.

someone should buy this and throw it up on ebay to make some quick g’s

I’m so tempted to buy it, rock out with coke and hookers, and then sell after a year or 2 and not lose any money on it.

You really can’t go wrong. You can ask a few guys one here, I have hooked them up and they haven’t lost any money. I sold my friend an R6 I took on trade that had 2k miles. He bought it last year and he is still ahead of the game at this point…

Also before anyone asks…no test drives…I don’t do test drives on boats. If you dont like it, go spend $10k more on one because thats the next best deal you will find.

Kind of glad I don’t have a tow vehicle or this could have made for an expensive summer.
GLWS looks like a lot of fun.

What is your contact info, I will send it to a couple people.

Its right in my sig. My cell is the best # to reach me at.

Low retail is at 29k.

I have the little angel on one shoulder, devil on the other thing going on right now. On one side, the finance guy in me is saying the old adage, “if it flies, floats, or fornicates, rent it.” On the other, there’s the “Think of it as renting it for free for a few years,” and “boats and hoes” arguments.

I’m sure my avatar isn’t helping the boats and hoes arguement. I refuse to drive this because then I will never drive my 4 cyl, 21’ open bow ever again.

I am on par with some of this… I called my wife and told her that we could have a boat for the next two years for the cost of gas and maintenance with a possibility of profit… She actually seemed interested but that means I will have to buy a truck too…

Passed this on to a guy at work who used to sell boats full time. He said he’s going to send it to a couple guys he knows who are in the market.

Alright I have been contacting dealers and so far pending pictures, I have an offer at $26k with the trailer. Its pretty much a bidding match right now and at 26, its still 3k behind low retail not taking into consideration the 2010 Vantage trailer.

A few more pictures I just took.

I had serious doubts a single mag 350 would do 70 on this hull and this pretty much confirms it.

It takes a lot of power to get a boat that size to that magic 70 number on the water.

I had a post questioning the speed as well but decided to not post it. lol

ahh I didn’t see the speed claims. Yeah, this an awkward sized boat for a single engine to get going 70mph.

I still think it’s a great deal. Doing 60mph on the water is FAST. My boat clocks in around 37 mph, and even that feels pretty fast.

Coworker of mine (Dave) might be seriously interested. Forwarded all of this on to him.
