I found a guy named Joe that has been doing car and boat upholstery for 40 years. He is going to do all the seats and headliner for $300 - $350.
I bought all the original style vinyl from Classic Industries. Big difference in the feel of the new interior compared to the beaten up old interior. The old interior had the feelings of the lungs of a 70 year old chain smoker.
Yea, slight delays. Its on a good course right now. Just checked it this morning and the driver side is in all primer. Now all he has to do is fine sanding to perfect it
I’d be happy to get it out at the end of September for a few weeks at least I have all the parts it needs to be put together too. Just need to order the rims and tires.
Yea, it’s been off the road for a while, 7 years to be exact. I’ll bust my ass to put it together and drive it until the snow falls. And get some miles on it to break it in for more toys for 2007.
I went to see it in the morning and after work. Some good progress. Bob (painter) hopes to get some paint on it within 2 weeks. He’s got a lot of other jobs already lined up due to my car already.
Someone asked why I picked him to do it. I couldn’t beat the price. I have seen a bunch of his cars and he does real good work. He was recommended by Lenny, my engine builder/friend.
I had a lot of other shops wanting to do my car, but I figured I can have someone do the same caliber of work for less money allowing me to spend more money on snky snky
He hopes to have it all in primer by next weekend and do some final sanding. Paint the week after.
Also ordered rear shock reloaction kit to relocated the rear shocks inside the frame for some fatter rear tires. As soon as that is welded into place, going to order some rims and tires. [8D]
hey joe, my g/f dads has a camaro he is restoring too…i talked to you about it when i picked up the tires from ya like month ago.
He has the 1969 Z/28 phatom green one. I found out it was a z/28. i dont know exactly what that means but he has an original 302 in it. but beside that i dont know anything about these camaro. but your project looks good…i’ll show you some picture of her dads restoration when i get some picture of it.
I want to see some pics of this. My uncle used to own a 69 Z/28 that was fathom green. Would be funny to see if it was his original one. If he got it from Lockport in the 80’s, its a good chance it was his. My uncle sold it without offering it to my dad. We were pissed.
