69 Camaro resto - It's ALIVE! - no 56k

Well, I almost shed a tear. My baby was towed off to get soda blasted in preparation for paint and body work.

Just before the flatbed came out:

Heading down the 33:

The car is at Blast Off in Buffalo www.blastoffny.com . They will be soda-blasting the entire car in preparation for bodywork. Estimated date to get it to the body shop, Thursday.

Then it gets to take another quick ride on the 33 and head back into Tonawanda.

Last chance to look at it in somewhat together state:

Took a whole 20 minutes to rip apart the front end - again:

Now there is room for me to put all the WNYCarClubs.com Super Cruise supplies until the show.

Plenty of pictures coming soon. Jessie at Blast Off will be sending me pictures the next few days showing the progress.

Plans for it include:
repaint of blue w/ white rally stripes
paint engine compartment same blue as body color
302 motor out - ??? in snky snky
400 turbo trans out - ??? in
Redo some of the standard interior
17" rear / 16" from American Racing Torq-Thrust wheels

And plenty more fun toys.

I hope to have it done by Mid-August. more pictures as they come in.

jesse is a cool guy, let me know how the sodablasting turns out. nice looking car, btw.

Gorgeous…hope it comes out even better then before

Yea, met Jessie when I bought his air compressor and he kept bugging me until I brough my car to him

I was at their shop for 3 hours hanging out and disassembling the front end. He should have it done by Thursday. He’s taking pictures also.

I’ve only had it off the road for 7 years :frowning: Now it’s killing me to get it back out. The cost of parts keeps increasing the more I think of what I want to do to the car, but I figure I’ve saved gas money for 7 years, time to dump a small fortune back into my toy.

Nice man, I can’t wait to see the progress and how your car comes out when everything is done!

love that you’re keeping it period correct with a 302 in it  awesome motors!

wow, truly fantastic

as said before, can’t wait to see the after pics

Mmm… love the old school.

looking good

good luck, move slow, they come out better that way

That’s not the impression I got from his post… :gotme:

Personally, I’d rather have the modern drivetrain in there: LS2 and T56.

 to that, I understand the love for old school american muscle but with the tech we have now days.
Go for whats gunna be reliable and quick.

cant wait to see how it turns out

Sounds like this thing is gonna be tits when its done

I’m sticking with old school powertrain, but much better than what came stock. Let’s just say it was a special order engine back then. The transmission will be relatively newer though.

awesome

i smell 427 copo/yenko clone…Do IT

awesome man. i love first gens with a passion. Good luck with everything
