Sébastian Loeb decides for the KTM 1190 RC8 R!
published at 06.07.2011
Tuesday, June 28 was the big day when seven-times rally world champion Sébastien Loeb swapped his 2008 model RC8 for the latest version of the KTM Superbike, the 1190 RC8 R. The motorsports professional didn’t have to be asked twice to take advantage of the ideal conditions on the Circuit de la Bresse (F) to lay down a few impressive laps.
Loeb, born in the Alsace, has had a close relationship with the KTM brand since 2006 and his latest RC8 R is based on the series model and is fitted with an Akrapovic exhaust system and Michelin tires. After only a few laps it seemed like Sébastien was impressed with the improvements in the 2011 model.
“I was out on my RC8 here back in April 2009 and how it compares to the new model is really interesting. The way the power unfolds in the RC8 R is smoother, it has more power and at the same time has less vibration. The motorcycle is more agile, it’s much lighter to ride and suits this very technical circuit much better”, Loeb said after four outings on the bike.
Jerome Delziani, KTM Marketing Manager for Southern Europe, speaking of the cooperation with one of the biggest motorsports personalities of all time said: “KTM’s Ready to Race philosophy is an integral part of its DNA and we’re very pleased to have Sébastien Loeb in the Orange family. He is a real champion and role model and also a great inspiration. We’re very proud to be able to support him in his passion on two wheels.“
