98 Eclipse Spyder w/ GSX Swap

it looks like yours is a 5bolt-vband adapter plate on it? you should be able to just get a dodge flange and make a downpipe

thats what im looking at right now actually, to try and keep the turbo and attached pieces stock. the other thing i was considering was theres an ebay seller that sells the holset 5 bolt flange…im thinking that might be a lil bit better route so i wont have to relocate the alternator, but im still weighing my options.

Also dropped off the gaskets today at K+S for it to be port matched…asked them to try and have everythign done by the 28th so i can do it that weekend…

nice. i always wanted a convertible gsx.

looks good man

hey man you get that whc1 on before i get my hy35 on i want a ride, im glad you found one on that site i got my hy with under 60k on it… and cheap as shit too…lol…

oh hey and dumb question, you dont take the bosch injectors do you? i got a set of rc1200s ill let go for 200 brand new in the package never ran the stupid kid sent me the wrong ones and im eitehr making a profit or sending them back…lol…

The turbo will be going on next weekend if some money comes through that im waiting on but i will be more then happy to give rides lol. gives me a reason to drive it.

Right now ive got my ‘stages’ planned out, its just timing and money to make sure it gets done. Wednesday the speed density ‘kit’ will be going in the car, then from there im bolting the turbo onto the stock 2g dsm with a t3>dsm flange adapter i have from my previous turbo. Once i get that on and make sure the turbo works well, ill have my head back from port/polish/oversized valves and thats when all the works gonna be done…cams, head, port the intake manifold, get a t3 ex manifold, new timing components, and 1g TB. As of now it will all be done by mid February, but im hoping to get it done a little bit sooner.

As for the injectors - i may actually want them but i wont know for sure until after i get the turbo on the car. I do plan on running e85 - but i was gonna just use the 1600’s i picked up. however, the 1200’s might be a little easier to tune. how soon were you looking at getting rid of them?

fyi i saw holset “o2housing” which goes from the 5bolt to a 2bolt like dsm o2 housings fairly cheaply

where did you see it?! id much rather pick just buy one…then i can do everything in my garage. I saw the ones on ebay, but i guess the holset 5 bolt flange is different from the garret (standard?) 5 bolt flange.

this bad boy lol

hm, that does look like it would be fairly easy to modify for a bolt on t3 setup…

now im deciding if i want to just do the new head/turbo and stuff all at once…which id like to but i know its gonna be a while before it will happen then…oh well…

I bumped this on another site…figured i might do it here. Since i blew my engine a few weeks ago…i had some time to do some work to it…

Sooo, i figured i should keep it. I looked at a few more Spyder shells up here in NY, and while they all had better front ends/shock towers, the rear ends were worse!

So the past few weeks, i got a new lower radiator support welded on, and i got most of the engine bay rust taken care of, just waiting to get it to the shop for the strut tower repair.

but at any rater, i also took this time to do that Speed Density conversion, Install the WH1C (HX35…) and my Spearco FMIC.

Heres some teaser pics + videos (the 2step is with anti lag on, which i will not be leaving on. for one, it was still climbing when i stopped at 15psi, and i think 10psi alone will start breaking stuff!)
