Hey guys, I finally found a real clean LX shell from NY (Virtually Impossible) and decided to make a winter project out of it. I plan on stripping the whole car down, repainting it, replacing all vulnerable parts (suspension mostly and brake upgrade), change interior color, 1.8 swap, Turbo setup(already have most of), Its an auto so I plan on swapping in a manual trans as well. have the money and plenty of time to do it. If anyone has parts siting around to make a BPT or just any ideas to make the car more interesting, better looking, or just make the process faster, that would be awsome. Keep in mind this is complete tear down and rebuild. I don’t know if anyone would do this to an escort but I love these things and plan on representing all over. EGT FTW!!!

If anyone knows of a EGT, Protege LX, Tracer LTS, or LX-E for sale it would help out big time. I need to get this thing done for Shred and Regan cruise night. I can settle for a wreaked car too…
Why restore anything??? Why restore an old mustang or corvette, or supe up your car??? You find a car that you like, thats in your price range and have fun. People that have Lambo’s and Ferrari’s are saying the same thing about VR4’s and EVO’s. “Why spend money on that or waste your time??”

I like it. One of my favorite cars was a mint 91 escort GT I had a few years ago, it was pretty quick and could take a beating. I wish I could find another one in great shape.

The mazda BP engine came with a closed deck, crank cradle, oil squirters for the pistons, ceramic coated pistons, oil feed tap already in the block from the factory. Basically just throw a turbo at it with the right ECU and your done. Wont cost more then a grand to finish he car completely with around 220HP. I’ve seen people throw more money and Just porting a head on there Integra.
I go to Watkins Glen twice a year for a high speed driving school. I’ve seen, rode and driven any and almost all. I personally know people that drive Ford GT’s as there daily driver. I know what people with money say.
