i’m starting to see some use of ChatGPT in my work from vendors. it certainly does a nice job of some of the stuff that is difficult for me.
for example, defining a project scope and getting the initial formatting in place is always something i have challanges with but one of the companies i work with showed us how they use ChatGPT to get the project framed out and it did at least 3 hours of work (of someone who is actually qualified and trying) in 30 seconds.
Of course, it still requires someone with real expertise and credibility to complete and deliver the project but impressive nonetheless.
I used ChatGPT for my work performance goals… it did a great job with about 2 min worth of work.
I’m using it every day. Super helpful especially in situations where I’m not fully versed. Finding how-to’s for old software for example. I asked it how to do a thing, and got an answer that people using the software for 20+ years hadn’t known about…
I’m also seeing potential hires using it to write follow up emails, etc. There’s a certain dryness to it that gives it away.

Same, use it all the time for RFQs, emails, troubleshooting. Now what to do with the other 6 hours of my day…

I’m up to 7 active projects and occasional proposals. 3 of which are going in construction up to september.
I just dont really see a way it could do to save me time.
I use Monday.com for managing projects. It has some Ai, but that’s not what makes it useful.
Ai right now is great for anything involving language. Write a proposal, then ask it to rephrase or make concise. Or ask it to elaborate. Also, when you know you need to do a lot of writing but are feeling lazy… Keeping in mind that someone else is just going to have an AI read it and give them a summary, lol.
