someone mentioned a few days ago, that domestics started with turbos. I was trying to figure out who actually produced the first turbo charged car. well I found this wikipedia article that I thought was pretty neat. It tells you how they work, explains some basic concepts and even a brief history on turbo cars.
“The first production turbocharged automobile engines came from General Motors. The A-body Oldsmobile Cutlass Jetfire and Chevrolet Corvair Monza Spyder were both fitted with turbochargers in 1962. The Oldsmobile is often recognized as the first, since it came out a few months earlier than the Corvair.”
looks like the first turbo car was a GM. And all you camaro guys are bustin on the mustang going to forced induction for the cobra’s, :nono:
