While it’s a social network, I wouldn’t put it in the same class as MySpace – by far. It’s more of a communication tool, interaction mechanism, presence indicator, etc. etc. that also allows private or public sharing of MP3s, videos, etc. It’s not for creating obnoxious layouts, forcing profile music on people, or ruining your career by exposing your private life.
I also see a lot of potential, and likelihood, for Pownce to get integrated into other Web 2.0-ish sites … digg.com comes to mind, since Kevin Rose, founder of digg, is also a founder of Pownce.
