Who is he to judge his labor is harder then everybody elses? Are we going to base salary strictly of labor now? Well goodbye regular CEO salary and hello to coal miners making millions.
How about all the kids that simply inherit the wealth and live off it without ever having to work hard, while their employees can be working their asses off.
It takes money to make money. Major taxation is part of that making money.
Why is he only making 10 million and not 20? Obviously he could be working harder and making more money. Or is he going to blame this on someone too? 10 mil a year isn’t enough to live on? Hahah
Maybe what my post was vague, but you took it a little off of what the point was… had nothing to do with how hard someone worked labor wise and im pretty sure you know thats not what it meant
While yes, I feel as though someone making 10 million could probably spare a million a year thats not the point…
Point is, if someone has money, whether they worked hard and made all the right moves, caught an easy break and made bank, inherited it, won it in a lawsuite whatever they earned that money, whether they worked their ass off for it, or got lucky… unfortunately some people catch breaks, we get jealous when we see it happen to other people, but most of us in reality would probably feel the same way if we were the ones with the big incomes getting ~20%+ getting taken from us yearly…
It is not any of ours or the governments business to determine how much we can spare and assume it wont affect are quality of living. Yes thats stretching it a bit, but say someone makes over a million a year, around 1.5 there getting a little over 300K a year taken away from them in taxes… thats quite a bit, now I doubt they would be financially hurting if it went up another few percent, but how are we to know? Maybe it will put a little bit of strain on the way they are used to living, a privilege they earned no matter how they came about the money.
Lets say you work someplace, you make 500 a week, everyone else only makes 300… If I started taking ~100 bucks a week out of your paycheck because you can afford it how would you feel? You’d probably be pretty pissed if someone started taking money the thought you could do without without ever knowing how it would affect your quality of living that you earned.
If your making 10 million a year and living that millionare lifestyle, a couple million a year comming out of you in taxes coudl be that “blanket” money if you will…
No one needs a million dollar house, no one needs a garage full of ferarris, no one needs a lot of shit, but if they have the money and they did what they had to for it, they have every right to enjoy that lifestyle and want to keep it without missing a beat.
Care to point out the blame he made that your statement would be accompanying? I don’t see blame being placed in his statement at all.
What right do you have to someone else’s money? Hard or easy earned it makes no difference. So if a man works his whole life and leaves his earnings to his son, YOU or anyone else deserve it more than his son?
What’s this “what right do I have” remarks? My money gets taken just like everybody elses to support the government that allows you to have a job and or have the business.
They have every right to charge whatever they want to make their structure survive and if you don’t like it you’re free to go elsewhere.
What right do they have to have influence over the government using their finances when I do not have the same option?
What right do they have to have certain taxes that are based off % of income/wealth for the rest capped at a certain point in time so they pay a smaller %? IE social security iirc.
What right do they have to spend a small fortune on lawyers to figure out loopholes to avoid paying as many taxes as possible while the rest of us just pay it?
This might be the start of a double-dip recession. The larger problem now is that it’s starting, and let me emphasis starting, with unemployment already at 9% and federal interest rates at zero or nearly zero. The Fed has nothing to combat a downswing besides printing more money and further devaluing the purchasing power of the dollar.
Vlad your not getting what I’m saying, yes anyone could live off 10 million thats a lot of money what your not getting is people who make that kind of money and their quality of living.
While there are very modest people who make a lot of money… A lot of people who have money like that generally live in an expensive house, in an expensive area, drive expensive cars and have expensive taste overall, their used to that lifestyle, whether the started with nothing and go to that point, or are continuing the family empire, they are used to that lifestyle and thats what suits them.
FOR THEM THOSE WHO MAKE THAT MONEY, getting an extra few hundred thousand, or another million taken out TO THEM is a lot of fucking money when your living that lifestyle.
Thats how this country is vlad, how its always been and how it will continue to be.
Again unless I am missing something (which benny says I am) people who make that much money pay double in percentage a year in taxes vs those who only make around ~50k… and you just said that yourself…
Again, what if someone took another 100 bucks a week out of your paycheck cuz they think you could afford it… probably woudlent sit to well with you.
