i’d like to take a look at them, i might be interested depending on condition
haha now thats funny, i’m curious about the rear bumper, cause as of now it looks pretty stock to me, i wonder how it was repaired, i was actually under the rear yesterday trying to figure out why the one corner didn’t quite line up right. and obviously you can tell the car has been repainted
one question, how did it run with the electric fan? any overheating issues? the PO gave me your old fan, and another new one, but has the original fan on the car now(its DAMN loud). there is a brand new larger than stock radiator in the car now FYI
damn i’m sooo glad i dont have that steering wheel, well i mean i have it but not on the car lol
the honda needed a lot of work, engine knocked on cold start, burned oil etc, needed new brakes tires. was still on the original clutch at 113K so that probably needs to be done, soft top was shot, window cracked holes in it, there’s a ton of work to do. I didn’t want to do it
Without out question, he got a good deal. The Honda for sure needed a good $5k restoration or more. Skurge wouldnt have done the labor on the motor so that would drive the cost up. The guy he sold/traded it too has a shop and will most likely fix it there. But with all that he needed to do, I’d say he made out in the end.
the racing beat exhaust is supposed to give it 22% increase(if thats true or not who knows)
also the emissions are removed which helps a bit also from what i’ve read
this week i’ll be getting rid of the clutch fan and going back to an electric fan(have all the parts) so that should free up some power also
and a K&N filter is getting put in today that i have
so all in all, assuming the motor is 100% i’d say i’m good for 130ish hp or more now, she pulls nicely even with the clutch fan and stock filter, its surprising actually
the best part about it though, is how smooth it is throughout the rev range
30 years ago. So you’re probably looking at 70whp if you’re lucky today unless it’s been rebuilt. I’d love to see one on a dyno. From what I’ve seen on Top Gear older vehicles tend to lose a lot of their factory HP.
this engine seems to be in great shape, and with only 53,9xx miles on it, it still has a ton of life left. i’d love to dyno it also, maybe next spring depending on what kind of things i do to it this winter(as far as needing to be re-tuned)
i am in Amherst come by anytime there are metal and in great condition. The electric fan was good never overheated a lot better than the clutch fan. Lol I want another, I also want mine back. Lol never should have sold it such low miles and so clean…
My thoughts as well with the power loss, but I’m not aware of how rotary motors wear down over years. I’d figure not as much as your normal 4, 6, 8 because of less moving parts.
