So after college I went on a trip across Europe visiting car manufacturers and found a picture of my buddy Tim staring at a hot car and I just put 2 and 2 together… what do you think it looks like? It is on a rotating car elevator with other concept cars at the Audi plant’s museum.
Here is another plant I visited you might recognize. That is the first Enzo ever made by the way… serial number ended in 001 if i remember correctly.
Sure, doesn’t mean it is what came out. Often times the concept cars are far cooler than the production cars. It seems rather unlikely they were developing the R8 for that long. That car looks like its from the early 90s.
The sensation at the 1991 IAA in Frankfurt was a sports car study. A flat sports coupé with V6 mid-engine and a spectacular aluminium body. When rumours emerged that the Audi quattro Spyder was going to be built, Audi dealers received hundreds of enquiries. But in the end, only two prototypes were constructed.
