FMX = possibly the most insane thing to do on a motorcycle. therefore the most entertaining.

disagree. the TT is most insane

TT?

Isle of Man Tourist Trophy race.

superbike racing bores the hell out of me.

i understand the extreme injury potential, but a double backflip dirt to steel is a whole lot more likely to kill you.

they get airborne at 100+mph…

theres been 237 deaths (says wiki) since the race started…

:dunno

6 inches of air in TT or 25 feet (often, more) in FMX

:banghead

greater risk of death at the TT. numbers proven

I disageee with both of you.

Go youtube some of that race. takes Enduro to a whole new realm. Put yourself in another country, with questionable healthcare. Go to the center of a few thousand foot deep shale mine, and ride your MX bike till you feel like you are going to die on the spot.

Where do I sign up??? :excited

it’s not the risk of death that makes FMX > TT IMO, it’s the sheer craziness that the FMX riders have. TT isn’t crazy, yes they’re blasting through turns damn near horizontally at 100mph, but they’re doing so to win a race, not because they’re questionably psychotic.

FMX guys aren’t winning anything but a trophy most of the time, and are essentially risking their lives EVERY time they go out just for the entertainment of fans. they dont HAVE to put their ass in jeopardy every time they go out. sane people would, and most do, just ride regular MX on a factory backed team, make big money, and have a much smaller chance of killing themselves… look at Pastrana, he didnt need to be the first nutter in history to double backflip on a dirtbike, but he said “fuck it, im doing it.”, not because it’d get him paid (laid, yes), but because he’s fucking nuts.

Both are crazy.

It’s you guys that are crazy for undermining danger in one sport compared to the other.

I’ve never said I wasn’t!!

both are balls out insane, i just like fmx more then tt. no reason for anyone else to, just my opinion.

the discussion was which is more insane. the TT is imo.

nobody is “undermining” anything :ninja

Not at all. Have you ever taken a limb off the controls on a dirtbike at 60-80 feet in the air? The level you are looking at on TV and at big shows are riders hitting the ramp for probably the 5,000’th time that year alone. It becomes second nature to click 4th gear, hit a 12’ ramp, land 80 feet away, and toss a flip in the middle for those guys. Where someone who thinks they can ride a dirtbike would shit themselves on a 25’ table top jump. technology, and safe repetition while practice is allowing the greatest athletes in ANY “extreme” sport do what they do and make it look like a walk in the park. Its really not as death defying as you might think. yeah they can highside a landing and break a collar bone just the same as a MX racer, a TT rider, a flat tracker, etc. It just looks crazyer to people that aren’t into the sport actively.

Pro level FMX riders arent at Sames Club wowing the crown with a can-can and walking away with a $200 check or trophy. They make a more than healthy living doing what they do. Even the middle of the run guys make a ton of money with just a few sponsors backing them. Travis made hundreds of thousands of dollars with that X-games 2x back, and thousands with the press, video, etc leading up to it. Not to mention he didnt just wing it at the x games! lol He landed PLENTY to dirt on his compound after messing around in foam pits and on mulch piles with small bikes. Just like everyone else in the sport.

oh my Christ, KK the argument’s over and done.

:rofl I am trollin you today it seems.

Not to me man, I know I have a much greater chance of surviving TT than I would , with this dirt bike ramp jumping, rock climbing double back flip crap.:eek3
