So I have a new Mustang BBK TB that I got to replace the stock mustang TB on my cavy. Well the fn shaft seals leak like no tomorrow.
Is this a common “feature” of the BBK TBs? I searched around some, but didnt find any info or fix.
Thoughts?

I have a BBK TB on my car, 70mm, no leaks. I was not even aware that there are seals on the shaft…
If you are concerned about a “whistling” noise thats not any seal, thats just what all BBKs do.
throw it in the garbage and get yourself an accufab.
Its def the seals, or bearings or w/e. They leak like no tomorrow at just 10psi, worthless.
For now Im going to put the stocker back on, I dont recall its seals leaking at all.
Ya, I should have spent the extra coin on the accufab. Maybee now is time?
Dan
Yes, its time. you wont regret it. i put 15 psi through my accufab when i had my mustang and had zero issues. everyone i know with one loves it. well worth the coin.
sounds like a rochester, lol.
I’d say that a lot of people who have these probably don’t even leak test them.
I assume it bolts together, can you replace the seals yourself?
ya, i might be able to. Ill pull the plate bolts out… see whats what . maybee
So I put the stock 92 TB, that I got used from a buddy forever ago, back on and it holds 15psi without issue.
Youd think the BBK would be able to do the same…
my 75mm BBK leaks like crazy too. Esp pushing 35+psi.
STM has a product that fixes this issue for Evo TB’s… I’m sure something can be found to fix it for these BBK’s. other than that, its a pretty reasonably nice throttle body.
