Hi.
I found ( early August) and have been fostering a purebred spayed and declawed bengal in WNY. I am an individual, not a rescue group, who seems to be a stray magnet. She was ( I found out later ) running around the neighborhood for over a month before she found her way to my door.

She has been vetted. She is actually rather stunning in her markings. Her pictures( see petfinders link below) don’t do her full justice. Everyone at the animal hospital stopped in to see her. I think I could of sold tickets to see her that day! Two of the vets considered taking her as she was so captivating. But they, of course, have other animals and it just would not work w/ Pia.

She is very sweet personality. But she is aggressive toward my cats. She was rehomed once w/ another bengal (and other cats in the home) and the male bengal stalked her and bullied her. They gave up trying to integrate her. She was under the bed there all the time.

Things here are getting very very stressful w/ my cats, and subsequently family members. She picks on my female cat, who is rather petite. Since Pia is declawed she jumps right on and bites her. My cat now hides under chairs when bengal cat is upstairs. Pia is now relegated to the downstairs most of the time. She is up when they are shut in another room to have some upstairs time. The longer she has been here the more aggressive she has become.

Pia has given up for the most part on my very large Tabby male, who won’t fight w/ her and he has attacked dogs, so I know what he’s got in him— but he backs down except will stand his ground when it comes to his window seat and anything else he doesn’t want to share. Mostly she sulks around him. She will still occasionally try to go after him if he is playing w/ something.( His movement attracts her I think) It is not done in fun on her part. It has also caused friction between my cats in their stress w/ her being here. They are great friends and now hissing at each other a lot.( and a few swats). This is not fair to them.

She was rehomed early on, before she was overtly aggressive ( the longer she has been here the more aggressive she has gotten ) toward other cats. She went in a home w/ another bengal along w/ other cats, The male bengal stalked her and bullied her.
There were also dogs, she smacked one in the face and otherwise ignored them. But she was not really integrated into the dogs living space. I think she might be ok with a dog that completely ignored cats and would just get up and walk away from her shenanigans. But it is very hard to know.

She also from all this stress developed IC ( or perhaps she had it and that’s why her owners dumped her. They never were looking for her or answered ads for her )
She is on Dasuquin and high quality wet food w/ extra water added in so it is soupy. It seems that the frequent urination has been resolved. The vet thinks if she gets in a low stress home of her own, it will not be an issue at all. ( She will still need the food and dasuquin )

As a bengal, she is very picky about her litter boxes.( from speaking w/ other owners and what I have read her behavior there seems to be in the realm of bengal behavior ) It may or may not be exacerbated by the IC .

The local animal rescue group has courtesy posted her on Petfinders and adopt-a-pet for me, as well as their website.

As mentioned, things here are getting extremely difficult. Besides her aggression towards my cats, this is a “low energy” home. I have elderly parents w/ health problems in the home. It is not good for Pia. It is not good for us.
.

I post here in hopes of finding her a home. Besides spending a nice chunk of change at the vets, I also have become attached. I want her to have a good home.

Staying her much longer is not what is best for her at all.

If you are or if you know of anyone that might be a good match for Pia, please respond here or through the petfinders listing.

If you have any other rehoming tips. Please inform. I did try and email the East Coast BRN contacts last week, but have not heard back.

Thank you ! I know this was a long post, so I appreciate your reading.

Another one just came across my wife’s radar:

As the ad shows these arent the most social cats. My female Bengal is most certanily Satan or minimally posesed by a demon. My lil princess.

Yep, we’re still having to keep ours separated. It’s been over a year. The rescue is actually touchable and sleeps with us, but if they’re in the same room together, the rescue wants to kill the other one, and no amount of redirection keeps her from fixating on the good one. It’s pretty exhausting.

hahah we have the same thing but we dont seperate them. She is totally cool with two other cats we have but the largest male she goes after 3-4 times a day. I’m used to it but im sure the noises alarm guests sometimes as they are loud as hell.

I really wanted a bengal but I ended up rescuing my blue tip Siamese. She was in bad shape so I had to get her.

I feel I have to in this case, at least while we’re at work. I’ve done a LOT of cat introductions in my life, but this is the first time I’ve thought there was going to be some real danger. It’s gotten to the point, after trying all of the regular stuff, we hired someone to come in and help. We’ll see how it goes in 2 weeks.

I would love to get a bengal, but we adopted from the store in the McKinley Mall and it would never fly in my household. Went in one day just browsing, saw the only cat they had out of the cages and he was walking around hissing at all the other cats in their cages. Knew right then he was a keeper. Best cat I could ask for in my house, except for when he tore down my plastic window insulation on my 6’ x 4’ window in my living room.

He’s not a bengal, but he sure is pretty awesome.

This is our super weird Bengal:

Her name is Daisy and we rescued her about 5 years ago from Ten Lives Club not knowing she had any Bengal in her. My wife and I have had a lot of cats in our lives, but there was something really weird about this one. She has a super deep “meow.” Her legs are really long and when she looks as you, her green eyes feel like they are staring into your soul. She likes to run around the house doing amazing acrobatic feats all while growling. She is fascinated by running water. She is incredibly clingy and has spots on her belly. I have a feeling that she was given to the rescue because she doesn’t have the spotted coat that is the more desirable look that people who want Bengals prefer.

She has a ton of health problems that have taken almost the entirety of our relationship to resolve. a few months after we got her, I had to go away for training for about 3 months. During that time, Daisy freaked out and started licking her hair off her rear legs to the point where her skin became raw. Our Vet put her on an anti-biotic and gave her one of those cones of shame. She then developed a urinary tract infection while on the anti-biotic. Shortly after, I came home, those issues disappeared, and was told by my Vet that I was not to go away a length of time like that again unless I took the cat with me.

After about a year of her living healthy, she began to have stinky breath. She was diagnosed with Stomatitis, and we tried lots of different treatments to resolve the issue, but nothing worked. She started pulling her hair out and eating less. The next step of treatment was to pull most of her teeth out. So we had all but her very front teeth pulled. Typically a month or two afterward, they show no more symptoms, and resume a normal life eating only soft food. Not Daisy. It took her about a year for the symptoms to subside. She also likes to eat the other cats hard food, in an act of defiance, because that is the type of cats she is.

I am happy to report 5 years later at approximately 10 years old she is now as healthy as an ox. Thank god.

I’m really surprised how many of you have these. I rescued mine from my cousins garage, someone abandoned her. She was only 6 lbs when I found her, but she quickly grew to 9 lbs.

I really like the way bobbygrv’s new cat looks. Almost looks like a cartoon character.

The last 2 look like they have some Serengeti in them. I found a blind Serengeti over the summer. Super tiny thing covered in fleas. Really cute and really blind. A friend ended up taking it which is good cause my Maine **** tried to murder it whenever I tried introducing them, worse than she does to my friend’s tea cup yorkie whenever that is brought over.

Mine are playful and my brothers f3 savannah is playful as well no issues here

About 2 years ago I looked into getting a Savannah. I would really like to get an F1 or F2 if possible. Where did he get his? And will any Vet take them, or do you have to find a special vet?

Here’s another one, young, up for adoption in Rochester
