NISSAN APOLOGIZES FOR ASBESTOS IN VEHICLES … Nissan Motor Co. has discovered asbestos in motor vehicles it produced between 1995 and 1999, despite the March 1996 declaration that it had stopped using the harmful material in its products, according to a report on JustAuto.com.
The automaker has apologized for its past “improper information disclosure” on the use of asbestos, which is blamed for causing a rare cancer called mesothelioma.
Nissan said 165,804 vehicles produced for the Japanese domestic market were equipped with asbestos-containing components such as engine air cleaners between 1995 and 1999.

glad its only JDM…they prolly used it cause it was cheaper and Nissan almost went bankrupt between 95-99…but produced the best Maximas between those years…
yea the new ones are probably infinite times better…again debatable…but id like to see urs stay within a few cars of one…and looks anywhere near as hot
i think the 3rd gen max suspension was the best, and i really liked the style. the vg was definately lacking in power compared to the vq though. ive never driven a max with a ve so im not sure how much that would have helped.

I am Biased…personally the only thing i like about the new ones are the motor…and in terms of performance…people on maxima.org with a y-pipe as their only mod have been within a car length…
i only added teh maxima comment for myself no need to turn this into a maxima discussion…and for Skatic 3rd gen did have the better suspension Independant rear compared to my shitty beam link…but overall looks and performance 4th gen for life

ive always wanted to take a ride in a ve powered 3rd gen, seems like it could compete with a 4th gen stock for stock. i kinda miss the 4DSC , they have gotten soft and heavy since those days.
