I bought a extra tail panel for the berger mod. filled some chips, primed. And painted it today. With some satin black, rattle can. Should get it on the car in a few days. Some people like it some hate it…
should like like this, this is satin. SOme guys do gloss and flat with I didn’t like. And I have a set of the good mirror “camaro” inserts I got at GM carlise a few years ago. I’ll probably use.
Heres what my car looks like now, I finally painted my rear swaybar from the bright red powerdcoat. I like it alot better POR15 . I can always change it back to my stock tail panel if I don’t like it.
i like it, but like you, i also still have my painted one in case i change my mind. im thinking about doing mine in satin as well because the flat isn’t quite what i was looking for…
ya I saw flat and didn’t like it have some pics of that on SOM. Plus The :snky: fast intake I did I used flat to match the stock platic look, and its rough, and a open paint. The flat shows stains, and even fuss sticks too it easy.
Gloss was gay like it was off a parts car. stain looks like the 1st gen, and what the berger cars were. I used the rustomlem outdoor metal/plastics, you can see it in the 1st pic. Also heard there a krylon fusion? or something guys talk about on tech that said it dosn’t fade and holds up good.
if anything I’m really happy about the swaybar, haha shit looks stupid bright red.
i used urethane paint (actual paint gun paint) hoping it would be more durable… and was going for satin to begin with, but what i sprayed was the closest we had in the paint room. its easy enough to change it… i’ll do it when im bored some day.
yes, i agree on having gaudy painted parts. subtlety is where it’s at
looks good but i think it would look better if the rear facing surface of the wing, and from under the wing on back on the hatchlid, and the rear facing surface above the taillights were all painted the same black, not just the rear panel. of course this would be less reversable but would look better IMHO. it looks more like a unpainted replacement panel right now.
can someone do a photoshop to show what i just described?
