http://www.nyspeed.com/showthread.php?70455-Really-good-pictures-from-Carlisle-09&highlight=carlisle
ive been looking forward to this newman. i lol’d, a bunch
Some unbelievable pics right there. I don’t know how anyone could show up to an event like this and think: “Yeah, my car is cool.”
So I didn’t miss a thing, nice. I heard the ride home was the best part.
X…
This is why i liked carlisle… i always got a laugh out of it…
i should have gone this year for the hilarity
this was fucking hilarious. I would just go to participate in the fail hunt
That’s pretty funny. I haven’t been to Carlisle in nearly 10 years. I would go to the Ford show, it was mostly old men and their antique Ford cars… This is a totally different crowd.
I stopped going when the Carlisle Police started taking the events as a total money maker from writing tickets.
I had a v8 thunderbird with a shift kit, it would chirp the tires at the 1-2 and 2-3 shift sometimes. I was stopped by the Police, and cited for Wreckless driving, and for having an unsafe vehicle. Then the cop threatened me and said if I didn’t pay the fine immediately in cash he was going to take me to jail, and the judge wouldn’t see me until Monday. This was a $225 dollar fine I believe. I knew the cop was just pocketing the money, total scam. Lucky for me, between myself, my friend and my brother, we came up with the cash.
That same year, we had about 50 guys from the Thunderbird club all hanging out at the one hotel, and drinking in the hotel parking lot. No one was driving, we were just hanging out talking about the cars. Hotel management called the cops, and they showed up and confiscated all the beer, and started yelling that people would be getting arrested, and how tough PA blue laws are. Most of the car owners were like 25-30 years old and totally pissed off. We love being harassed after we had paid $150 a night for a shit Clarion motel room.
The next night we all went for a short cruise to get some dinner. Police had set up a road block on the main highway where all the hotels are located, and they were writing tickets for exhaust noise, tint, and other bogus charges.
Another year, a friend of mine and I were walking around looking at the exhibits, just taking pictures. We walked into a building with a wide open door, thinking it was an exhibit. We started taking some photos of some cars. Some douche security guards came running at us with walkie talkies, and told us that we had entered a restricted area for prep of the show cars, and that we would be ejected from the show. They took us to a security room, and we explained ourselves to a security director, and I told the guy that treating your show guests like criminals isn’t a good way to get them to come back. We were told that we could stay in the show, but we had to “watch ourselves”. At that time, we just got in our cars and left a day early. I haven’t been back since.
Not to mention, Carlisle is in the absolute middle of nowhere. There is nothing to do but hang out with friends, check out cars, and drink during the evenings. PA blue laws are weird, you can only buy beer in bars, or buy it in 6 packs “to go” from bars. I went for at least 5 years, and I think it rained 4 out of the 5 years for the Ford show. Its awesome sitting in your car with the heat running, trying to stay dry for 10 hours a day.
That ssssiiiqqqq tiburon you owned never would of made this list…
the last time i went to carlisle was when i had the tib and the cops went batshit on everybody…
i got pulled over for the amber turn signal bulbs in my car… the orage paint on them had flaked off, and it was a little TOO white for them…
i got out of the ticket when i showed them that it was just the cheap ass pep boys bulbs had gone clear,… was still kind of a downer
dont you worry don, me and ctn had a nice discussion about our car over lunch
i cant wait till next year
there were a lot of real nice cars there as well
holy fuck, this thread rules.
hahaha epic
I liked all the cars, lots of thought went into them. hard work pays off in the end when they sit back an take a good look at what they have accomplished. Good for them, keep riding dirty.
can i moved this to networt so all can rejoice in how terrible carlisle is?
All those lookers were getting tied down.
I mean, the neon guy did ask his BBW girlfriend to marry him… Infront of the burn out contest.
LOL.
Good as time, I’m glad i went with CTN and company.
newman is currently on a flight to boston, so i dont know if he will be able to answer this
but i dont see why he would mind
rofl epic!!! another perfect reason for why u dont go to a carshow with a half finished or still work in progress car…
