I never had a cometic leak on me and I installed a lot of cometics on honda’s and nissans. Most guys it’s user error. I used hi-tack (anaerobic sealer) on them all though and all my heads/ blocks we’re fresh from re-surfacing, so they had the correct RA.
Tomei is disgustinly thorough. Sure it is more money, but when was the last time you ever heard of a bad Tomei product? It’s like they build parts good enough for Gods, and nothing less. If I had the bank and were to do a build, it’d be Tomei cams, pistons, and headgasket. And if not Tomei, JUN. You know they’re the right choice, just trust your instincts a little more lol.
If you really hate doing stuff twice, then I’d say pay once and get a reputable part, then call it a day. GL.
