I’m back from Missouri and was in the 2nd car (two cars - 8 people - went down for a wedding) for a little bit (Hyundai Genesis - more room to sleep lol) so I decided to snap some rolling shots of my car.
Rolling shots look good.
Whatever happened with you planning on getting wheels?
Looks too stock for a car guy
I scrapped the idea for the time being. I’d have to drop and with warranty still active on this car, I don’t want to run the risk of the dealership giving me grief for dropping, etc. Plus, I can’t even bring myself to change the oil half the time lol. I think I’m growin out of the tinkerin phase. Used to be in the garage every weekend with the Maxima…this car, I just drive it and keep it clean.
looks good, always a big fan of these. id throw some wheels and air ride on it and call it a day lol
That’s rather sad to hear, especially considering why most of us are in this to begin with. Most here don’t want to have just another car on the road, we want to have our car on the road that’s made the way we want it instead of manufacturer. More power, darken the windows, change this, improve that etc.
I’ll venture a guess and say that most of the time you tinkered with the Maxima wasn’t out of necessity to change something but out of desire to change it and make it your way. It’s a hobby just like anything else and you look back on it having typically rather fond memories or good stories of fails. (Bad decisions make good stories)
Keep in mind there are plenty of very subtle ways to improve the looks of a stock new car without doing anything drastic or changing the way the car feels.
Wheels will not void your warranty unless the dealer really wants to be difficult, plus typically you can put the stock ones back on prior to bringing it in. If this is your year 'round DD it’s not a bad idea to get a set of snows for the winter on stockers and have nice tires for summer on other wheels.
If nothing else you can always just powder coat the wheels to give it a menacing look being more black out or gunmetal.
Doesn’t it irk you just a little bit passing another M35 looking identical to yours? (Besides tint)
Well yeah, the wheels aren’t the issue. It’s the drop. Who knows what the dealer would try to pawn off on the suspension if say, a ball joint goes out. Remember how they replaced my axle, hub, etc. because they couldn’t get the stuff taken apart to fix my bearing after my FL trip 2 months ago? I’m sure I would have gotten push back if I had a drop and modified camber settings, etc.
I’d have two sets of tires for sure. The 18’s would be winter ones obviously.
And actually, it’s kind of funny, but for some reason I think my car looks better than your average non-sport M. I dunno if it’s the tint or something, but whenever I park next to one or drive by one, I think it’s better lol.
Looks good. Nothing is better than black when it’s clean.
True story. That’s why I got the Hoffman Unlimited card thing. I wash it just about every day now lol. I got sick of having to wait till I had time on Saturdays and driving a dust magnet during the week.
tint sets a car apart from a stock version for sure. it just makes it flow better overall in my opinion.
