Sick Beard is written in Python and as such, it is platform agnostic. As long as you have Python installed, you can run it on virtually any operating system.

yeah, I’ve heard that before. I’ll give it a shot, but I’ve not had good luck with getting these so-called cross platform python apps to run.
I wrote a tool when I was bored that pulls my listing of show torrents and auto downloads them.Added all my shows, HTPC turns on at 1AM every night to download them and when the torrents are done, turns back off. Pretty automated and too lazy to do anything else. I usually just grab a 3day usenet account when there is something I need once a month.

Umm Sickbeard, Couchpotato and Sabnzb where all originally written for linux/os x, are you running os x or linux. There are good PPA’s for ubuntu/mint for all of these apps.

don’t act like I’m being some kind of jackass though. If I had a nickel for every time I downloaded some python app that bombed out and I had to debug for 2 hours, well… I wouldn’t be rich, but I’d be really fucking annoyed by the pile of nickels.

I get that, I really do but this software is in use by so many people, it would be nice if they would do a some .app bundles for os x.
For me though what you are describing is perl and it fucking cpan module system.
