Dow cracks 14000!

Yeah, I guess. Isnt $35/hr only like $70k/yr though? Thats still a good wage, dont get me wrong, but its nothing special.

Compared to non-skilled jobs, those trade jobs are great. But compared to (most) white collar jobs which require a degree, they kinda suck.

70k in buffalo is nothing to snoot at.

70k is living good.

Move that wage to Vegas, or Cali, and 70k is bottom of middle class.

eh… sometimes yes, sometimes no.

alot of times, especially in the summer, I see the schmucks landscaping outside and I get somewhat envious.

Working in an office has it’s upsides, but it also has alot of downsides. One of my biggest pet-peeves about working in an office, opposed to working with my hands is lack of activity/exercise throughout the day.

honestly, back when I used to do manual labor, you’d get done with a long day of working your ass off… get a shower and your ready to go out and have a few beers.

with working in an office for the past 7 years, when I get out of work… I’m usually beat and ready for bed/drained of energy.

I wish CAD was more physical :stuck_out_tongue:

I totally agree.

I will sit at my desk, and watch the janitor dude come around and vaccume the floors, and wash windows, and I wish I were him for that moment in time.

DOW not looking so good today… 13505.85 as I type.

no shit…I’ve lost a grand in the last 2 days out of a diversified portfolio thats only worth $17k

oh well, i started it with 10 a year and a half ago so i suppose i cant bitch too much.

I’m more interested in the fact that the boards weren’t keeping up with the trading volume.

That and the 100+ point gain it made in the afternoon. Tomorrow should be a good day.

Happens a lot on days with heavy movement. That’s why after the bell youll see the numbers continue to move for a few minutes while everything catches up. At least its a hell of a lat faster than it used to be.

And down to 13,294 ouch.

Down 1,000 points in a month.

You pick great times to post how wonderful the economy is doing

Here’s how it really breaks down

Driven people will always do well no matter what the economy is doing.

Rich people will go broke in a bad economy if they’re complacent

The wealthy elite will be safe no matter what happens

The lower to upper middle class people will suffer the most when the stock market is volatile and the job market is scarce of any meaningful wages.

well, no matter what the stockmarket does:

i still don’t work with peoples turds

and thats just fine with me

that does not seems to be well diversified…5.8 % in 2 days…
i wonder how much you got left now after the past 7days…
i sold my mutual funds worth 47k on august 6th and put it in a 6 month cd with countrywide at 5.4apy…now my question is…
what the fuck happens if countrywide goes under? i know fdic will cover deposits up to 200k…but will cover the interest too? anyone knows?
i moved because of bob blinker letter kinda suggested to pull out of stocks…but after i moved i didn’t realize that countrywide was the biggest lender in the us…so if they have a lot of bad loand it could go under…

:picard:

Man W really is the next reagan…had the junk bonds…bush has the sub-prime

Dow @ 12600

Still have a long time before year end. Right now the market is reacting to an international credit issue, not something US politics can control.

Be ready to make some money Sept 18th when the fed meets and drops rates.
