Each have their qualities. I too, would prefer a wood stock, but that is only because in NY, we can not buy an EBR stock for it. I haven’t enjoyed any composite/polymer stocks that came stock on any gun I’ve shot and owned except for on my USC.
For the M1A Loaded model, which is what JVG’s is, the composite stock weighs 1/2 lb less. When the gun weighs less than 10lbs as it is, a 1/2 lb makes a huge difference. Wood has always felt more solid to me though, and personally, I’d have the extra weight for a more solid feel.
