so i went and looked at a car which was said to be a 92 civic si, i had only seen some borderline pictures of the outside i didnt see any engine bay shots because it was a craigslist ad and i guess those are optional? (hah) anyway i just wanted to take a look at it because it seemed like a decent price, it was from florida, brought here within the year. it had a list of some really general sounding mods, so i brought a buddy with me who honestly knows alot more about cars than i do. So i got to this car and popped the hood and it had a D series 1.6 and i was really under the impression SI’s came with a B16? so i called him out on it and asked if it wasnt actually an si.
so i wondering what is supposed to come in the SI’s and if its possible that it was still an si with a d series.
and for the record it had a bunch of ebay suspension parts/intake and a loud ricey exhaust, it was a clean shell but thats about it and i offered 1200max, he wanted 2900 haha which if it was an si i would have only paid like 2200 or so, i dont know, so many ‘ifs’
Yeah dude, with the internet it is sooo easy now to do a little research before you go look at a car. I would be pretty pissed if someone said my cobra was a fake cause the back bumper said “mustang,” when all 94, 95 and 99 cobras had bumpers that said “mustang.”

i didnt call him i liar i just asked him if it was supossed to be a B series, and he was an idiot he tried telling me that it was a CANADIAN SI so thats why it was a D16, and yes didnt do my research but i also looked at 4 cars in two days so i didnt look that deeply into each one.
