F-Body & LSX Enthusiasts!

"It’s a done deal…the show will be 8am to 4pm Sat July 17 at Planet Hollywood.

They’ll sell beer and water outside.

Still working the Hotel info. Next task will be the fun stuff…thinking about trying to have some track fun at Myrtle Beach Speedway on Friday night.

Burn out contest…and 0-60-0.

How’s this sound??? Other ideas welcome…keep in mind this is a half mile track so space is limited. I’m also going to check into the drag strip and see which is the better deal.

In order to make this happen…we need to hear from you. We’re also looking into ordering Tshirts and hats to sell to pay for all this."

"This is all still in the works…but 95% sure we will have SOME sort of event like dragstrip, burnout contest, road course, 0-60-0, etc. Just not sure yet, as we have to find a location first. Our next step is to get all of our sponsors on board with us. So far, Hawks Third Gen and Zues Performance are willing to help…and other shops like Tick have shown interest in coming down. Once we get our sponsors on board with us, things can really start to take off! As always…we are posting info as we recieve it! As for the tent…I don’t see why not, since Planet Hollywood is goin g to have people there selling beer and food outside, I’m sure they’ll have a tent doing that, so why not us too?

If any local shops are following this thread…feel fee to PM me or Terry (WipFbody) if ya’ll are interested in helping us make this weekend something that will be hopefully grow to be HUGE!"

“I found a hotel (not ocean front, but still nice) that will do us a group rate for $75 a night. you will NOT beat that price for this time of the year! I reserved 50 rooms, and we can increase or decrease that number in the future. I’ll have more info in a few days as far as a link for you all to reserve your room and a coupon code to use to get this price.”

“Its a La Quinta on North Kings Hwy…I’ll post a link once the manager sends it to me, but they don’t want all the people really calling in yet until they get everything set up for us, as far as locking in the group rate in the computer system (whatever that consists of). A few of us stayed in it last year, and its a nice hotel! They even have a covered area for 15-20 cars to park under.”

would love to go and just place a piece of cardboard on my motor and have it say insert ls2 here.

Your cardboard should say “insert LS9 here”

You should swap a LS4 in. Shortened crankshaft set up for transverse clearance. Factory 243 (LS6) heads

if its not much more then a ls1/2 im down.

im down of course, but i start my new job this summer so i am not sure how vacation time is going to work.

its a state job, so i doubt there will be any problems. :lol

As of now Im going to say we will meet at the New Baltimore Rest Area between exit 21A and 21B at approximately 7am on Thursday 7/15. I am aware that people may be towing vehicle on trailers and this spot will allow easy egress for them. There is also food and fuel for last minute top off before we depart. This is a 13 hour drive and I do not intend to grossly disobey posted speed limits. Our goal is to arrive in SC and check in to our rooms and possibly meet for a late but well earned dinner.

If any one wants to search for reasonably priced restaurants for our group arrival dinner in Myrtle Beach post up what ya find with a link and we will take a vote on it.

I may be borrowing a car for this

as long as vaca time is right ,my car will be broken after this lololol

I’m taking my Cobalt. 33mpg highway ftw

I need to borrow a 2.73 rear so I too can get 33mpg hwy. LoL

4.10’s this year opposed to last years 3.42’s FTW!

I was actually considering 3.73 gears. I don’t want to go too aggressive. I drive my car way too much. It looks like I will be on 3.23s until my rear come apart.

PS. Original post is updated with progress in thread

3.73’s for auto, 4.10’s for 6 spd. Thats what 80% of all LSx owners swear by.

I actually was getting better gas mileage with the 4.10’s over the 3.42’s because they involve alot less shifting, moves the car easier etc…

at 75mph on the highway, with the 4.10’s im only at 2100rpms…thats with a 18" wheel.

the 3.42’s at 75, I was around 1700rpms, but I would hafto down shift just to accelerate or pass a car…4.10’s doesnt need it.

also with the 4.10’s i can skip gears…for example…

start in 2nd, get rolling…at 3k, shift to 4th

I do skip shifting now with 3.23s but Im not cammed so I got all my factory low end torque. :stuck_out_tongue:

Also. Im not sure what size tire you are running but my 18" wheel and tire combo are the same diameter as stock. I don’t have any change in circumference

if the camaro is still in my possesion ill more than likely trailer it down, and waste a tonnnn of fuel in my truck. I have a trailer so no reason not to use it…im not sure if ill be staying in the same hotel with you guys, my gf and i are looking into renting a house.

Thats cool. Im still planning on meeting back up for dinner no matter where you’re staying. I guess SSmokin is invited too. I would like to start compiling a list of those definitely going down.

not sure about hotel plans yet but i will let you know, and id be down to go out for dinner…you can add me to that list.

I compared my bolt on/stock cammed Dyno sheet to my most recent MS3 dyno sheet, and the MS3 made more torque all across the board ovver my stock cam…even at 3k.

The torque is still there my friend!
