Had to take alook at the sbc stuff thought it was gold plated the way you have it priced.
is the 327 large or small journal?
To be honest, I have no idea, never took it apart. I can get the numbers off the front of the block if that helps.
look at the balancer if it has a bolt in it chances are its large journal …small journal balancers were just pressed on and had a key …crazy huh?
Wow! that is redick! I’ll let you know.
Ok, it has no bolt, so must be a SM journal.
thats a large journal 327
the heads have the 1.94/1.5 valves
what is the casting numbers for the heads, and 400sbc?
I dont remember the head casting numbers off hand but when I looked them up it said 2.02
Dont have the 400 numbers off hand but its a mid / late 70’s truck motor.
whenever you get them, doesnt matter
im almost positive those are the 1.94/1.5 valves though
do you know if the 400 is a 2 or 4 bolt main?
and just for the hell of it, i had someone do a lookup on that 327, and here are the specs: “327/275 with a manual transmission from a 1968 Chevelle or El Camino assembled at the Baltimore, MD plant.”
i need a 327 block, but it has to be a virgin SJ block, i cant find one naywhere
Yea I dont know what teh deal is with this 327, it came out of a 68 vette and was said to be the original engine, but every person that looks up the numbers comes up with different things so who knows.
The heads look like 1.94’s to me but that I cant confirm at the moment.
Im not sure on the 400… but I’ll get the numbers soon.
added casting numbers for everything.
awesome, what is the deal with that 400 block?
does it just have stock internals?
