Yessir, I thought the reference was obvious enough without needing a workcited.
The problem is that there is a supercar, an exotic car, and a sports car.
In general the consensus is if a car has any bone it it to make your commute easier, or gives weight advantages to safety features that are not required by law like extra airbags, or rear seats.
They have to handle well, go fast and look like a spaceship on exterior and interior. They cannot resemble the average car. They also have to have a price similar to a space shuttle. Generally they are mid engine, RWD.
There are also Hypercars which is a relatively new term.
So a bentley is an exotic, a Viper ACR is a sports car and a Gallardo, whether I like to admit it or not, is a super car.
The countach back in the day, looked like a spaceship, cost out this world and performed to the benchpark. It is the car that 10 year olds will refer to as a supercar when you put it next to any other car of the age or before.
