I got out to keystone today, needless to say i was severly dissapointed in my times. I was really hoping for high 13s, my first run was a 14.8 though. I got it down a little better as the temps went down, but my best run was at 78 degrees, 79% humidity and a barrometer of 28.0
Reaction .553
60’ 2.41
1/4 14.32
@ 101.37 MPH
As for Ownage goes, I owned a 5.0 mustang running a 100 shot of nitrous by a hair but i was pulling on him from the 1/8 mile on so i would have gained more if it was longer. And i owned a 68 Dart, don’t know what was done to it, but it was close, i caught him in the last 200 feet. Had one awful run where i was putting my window up and totally missed the light, can you reaction time of 3.555 and missed 3rd to boot. We wont even list that time.
Peeps say i should be doing alot better but its just not happening. 19psi and rich are all i got to go on. Lookin to do a new downpipe, ported O2 and highflow cat next. Followed by real tires. I got vids of my races but no idea how to get them up. I’ll hit 13’s by the end of the summer if i have to sell a kidney, but some cooler, denser, less humid air would help alot too.
Actually the stang driver pulled a 14.1, I got a .601 off the line to his 1.3 then he shot past me like a bat out of hell, i was close when i shifted to third then i just held and slowly crept past him. He got his revenge when i missed the light by 3 seconds and a gear, i ran a misscelanous 15 something and didn’t have a chance on it.
I got there late tonight, so I didn’t run my car. I saw your 14.3 run, it looked pretty good. You have a really nice looking car. I still miss my Eclipse sometimes. My buddy ran a 12.6x in his red 1G GST, and the car wasn’t running well on the topend.
Thanks, I prolly talked to your buddy, Are you the guy that said you showed up at 8:30 or something and they wouldn’t let you run? I was chatting with almost all of the DSM drivers there but i don’t remember too many of their times. Slowboys red FWD was out, and having tonds of problems too, buchar was there too, but he was running rough also.
Slowboys red FWD is the one I’m talking about. That’s actually owned by Nate who works for them. He wasn’t really launching it the first couple runs, and was having some other problems. The last one he finally launched off of the studder box. I think he pulled around a 1.8-1.9 60’ or so. I got there around 7:30 (plus still had my subs and some other stuff in the car). I just didn’t want to waste the money, since I figured I’d only get a run, but I think everyone got 4 tonight. Oh well. I still haven’t run mine at the track. I’m going to try to make it next week.
Yea, i was talking to them a good bit in between runs. He was running way to lean at the begining then having to shut it down at 5k. Plus they blew an IC pipe off on the second run and that right there will ruin anyones run or day. I didn’t get to see their last run, i was in the tower chasing down my times because the guy working slips lost mine or gave it to the wrong guy, but after being a huge pain in the ass i managed to get my times from the very nice and freindly tower people.
yeah there was a big backup after the last set of runs of people trying to pick up their slip. I was the one w/ Nate when he was putting the coupler back on the MAF in the gray shirt/white hat.
That whole backup for slips started with me actually
The guy gave me my slip and i started driving away and i look and i’m like “um, i didn’t run a 10.9” So i go back and he just gave my slip to the wrong guy and then a chain reaction of horrible-ness and backup started as people started complaining about their slips. Luckily the peeps in the tower could help me out and i had the run on video to know i got the right time.
Yeah it was on slicks. He was still sort of babying it off of the line. That’s the first time that he’s ever run it on slicks, and really only got one good run out of it. The other times he just rolled out b/c he doesn’t want to break anything…guess he shouldn’t own a DSM.
