FS: 1975 BMW R75/6

My Dad’s selling his motorcycle. He’s got an older one that he’d rather put his time into. It’s a 1975 BMW R75/6. It’s a 750cc boxer twin, for those of you who aren’t familiar with beemer nomenclature. The /6 refers to the generation. IIRC /6’s are easier to work on than /5’s. It’s a pretty cool bike. That flat twin makes a real smooth thrumming and unmistakeable exhaust note. The sound, combined with the bavarian thwack! with every shift makes them easy to recognize by sound from a mile away. He had it painted a few years ago and ditched the old seat for a Corbin. Windjammer fairing and Krauser hard saddlebags.

66k miles. He’s not the original owner, but he’s had it for probably 8-10 years. He says the engine runs smooth as always, but needs front and rear seals, and he says “he cylinder sections leak a little bit too, but not very much. It also needs a new flywheel, although it is rideable as is.”

Bike is located in Ontario, NY. Which is about 20 miles east of Crapchester.

[font=Verdana]Here are the pics. Let me know if you have any questions. If I don’t know the answer I’ll ask my Dad. He knows his stuff. He’s been riding since he was 16, taught me everything I know. Beemers are in our blood. He’s had his for 10 years and my Grandparents have been riding Beemers for 20+ years and active in the BMW MOA. Although they’re getting a bit older so I think they’ve downgraded to F650’s. :stuck_out_tongue: Anyhow…

Oh yeah, he’s asking $2200.

sweet bike!!

noobs notice its beemer not bimmer. nice bike. iffy on the fairings and bags. maybe better if they were the same color?

Yeah, it’s set up for commuting/touring/comfort. I’d ditch the fairing, bags, backrest, and luggage rack and it’d be a sweet little cruiser. Quick paint job back to factory color and it’s somewhat collectable too.
