The good:
Super reliable
Fairly clean interior for the abuse it gets
The bad:
Body is rough…some surface rust and various dents and dings
Dented Driver front fender from hitting a deer
Check Engine light is on…doesnt affect driveability as it has been on for about 20k…my guess is o2 sensor but havent had it checked.
Passenger side wheel bearing is making noise.
Exhaust is broken and loud.
Rear wiper does not work
I would not sell it if I didnt buy something (another explorer) with a little less miles on it for work.
Has 240K on it and still gets up and goes with traffic. I drive an average of 30-40k per year. I have owned it since 2001 and my uncle is a ford tech and has done all service as needed.
Recently has had a new fuel pump and driver side wheel bearing done.
White with lt. grey cloth interior.
Pwr. locks and windows with keyless.
4x4 works great.
Not pretty but a great runner. I will take pics once i clean all of my stuff out of it when I pick up my newer one later this week.
If anyone is interested feel free to PM or reply here as I will have no use for it after thurs.
When it was running good it was around 22mpg highway…I havent really checked since…I know it is already better than my v8 I started driving…2 tanks full since friday
I will get pics up when I get home today since its decent outside.
Upped the price 150 bones as it will not need tires. The tires on it are in great shape and I was originally going to move them to my new truck but since I can’t read 15<16 and they wont fit.
I would guesstimate the avg. mpg’s to be 15-18 and i know it gets better when the check engine light was on so I am guessing the engine light is an o2 sensor killing the gas mileage.
It is a beast in the snow…only time it has ever not started for me is when the fuel pump died. So thats a few month old ford unit $350 bux and new plug wires at that time.
