ive seen plenty of laptops worn down like that. Leave your left palm resting there for 4+ hours or more a day for a few years and that tends to happen

I had this same exact laptop back in the day. The paint was extremely cheap which is why it wore through like that. A lot of people complained about it because they paid almost $3000 for it, and the paint just sucked. Great laptop none the less.
