i belive the springs that hold the shifter have broken or disloged i havent looked at it yet but i will tomorrow, you can talk to Bing about replacement parts he might be able to get them.
you can still shift fine but the shifter moves about 3" side to side in each gear…

i guarantee its improper assembly, i put mine back together wrong once and the same thing happened, i already told you that.
maybe you should take it apart and inspect it before jumping to conclusions as to what is the cause of the flaw? if the springs fell out the pay would be lateral (up and down) not side to side… the type of play you are describing is characterized by the plastic bushing at the bottom of the shifter breaking. i did advise you to use an OEM bushing over msn.
perhaps even try to solve the problem first.
also, scott did not get this shifter from me, it was purchased second hand.
agreed that side to side is the bushing at the bottom of the shifter that sits in the shift rod.
i replaced mine yesterday and no more play.
the bushing is 3 bucks from nissan.
just checked the bushing today, its fine, and i have a brand new oem bushing on it.
the shifter was purchased from theo brand new in the box since removal it has 30 km on it.
the actual spring on the right side is missing.
i couldnt tell you if it is assembled wrong since i dont belive you are supposed to assemble these shifters out of the box but anything is possible.
